One week left to register for Michigan Humanities Grant and Program Workshop in Kalamazoo!

Lansing-Michigan Humanities will offer a workshop focused on the grant opportunities and program offerings that are available to Michigan nonprofits on Monday, October 28th at the Kalamazoo Public Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Michigan Humanities is one of 56 state (and territories) humanities councils in the country, founded in 1974 as a result of federal legislation.  MH invests in the people of Michigan by creating and sustaining humanities programs that provide us with a deeper understanding of the past, the tools for stronger analysis of the present, and a more informed vision for the future.  Grant opportunities that will be discussed during the workshop include Humanities Grants, Action Grants, and Arts and Humanities Touring Grants (a partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs).  Programs by Michigan Humanities that will be explored include:  Great Michigan Read, Museums on Main Street, and Poetry Out Loud.  MH Staff will also introduce the new online grants and programs portal to help organizations create their online profile.  The workshop will be interactive, so bring your laptop and ideas!  There is no fee to attend, lunch will be provided, and it is open to the general public.
