        The Comstock Township Library has a Part-Time Reference/ Cataloging Librarian position open.  Comstock Township is located to the east of Kalamazoo.  The Comstock Township Library is a class IV library and is part of the Southwest Michigan Library Cooperative.

  Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  	Provides professional reader's advisory and reference services 	Assists patrons in use of the library and its print and electronic resources 	Able to troubleshoot basic computer issues, including helping patrons with personal electronic devices 	Able to assist patrons in one-on-one computer lessons 	Participates in collection development and maintenance as assigned 	Catalog materials using MARC standards, DDC, LCSH, and RDA 	Plans and runs programs targeted towards adults as assigned 	Motivates, establishes, and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, other community agencies, and the public 	Prepares for emergencies and helps maintain a safe work environment 	Performs related duties as required 
  
 Minimum Qualifications:
  	Master's degree in information or library science from an ALA-accredited library school (library students nearing the completion of their Master's will be considered) 	Delivers consistently friendly, attentive, welcoming, high quality customer service 	Knowledgeable about the philosophy and techniques of public library services 	Embraces change in work environment, procedures, and services 	Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions 	Able to prioritize duties and tasks; work independently and assume responsibility 	Is highly responsive and has clear oral and written communication skills 	Full range of Internet skills and experience 	Flexibility with schedule 
  Salary: $15.96 per hour with a pay increase at 6 months and 12 months
