Announcing a K-12 Summit on Computer Science
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE), along with partners the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning (MACUL), the MiSTEM Network, Michigan Virtual, the Regional Educational Media Center Association of Michigan (REMC), the Michigan Film and Digital Media Office, Imagine Academy, and Michigan Minecraft Education Edition, is announcing the first ever K-12 Summit on Computer Science.
The event will be held on October 25, 2019 at the TCF Center (formerly COBO Center) in Detroit, Michigan. The Summit will offer innovative learning opportunities to connect statewide work in the areas of computer science and technology, including the implementation of the new K-12 Computer Science Standards (adopted May 2019) and the Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MiTECS).
If your local public library is working on programming with school aged patrons related to computer science this is an opportunity meet with other partners and learn how many organizations can support children and computer science and STEM related learning.
