I just wanted to share some cool things happening at Capital Area District Libraries.

Google AdWords

Online campaigns that link to CADL's catalog have been created and are currently running. These campaigns will allow owned book titles to appear in Google search results. Campaigns that will include events, reader recommendations, blogs and podcasts will be added first quarter of 2020. All campaigns are funded through a Google grant valued at $120,000. We are working with Koios on this project.

Television Shows

During the month of October, CADLcast and CADL Tales will premiere on Lansing's CW 5, which is WLNS TV6's sister station. CADLcast will be hosted by executive director Scott Duimstra and feature interviews with author and Biggby Coffee co-CEO Mike McFall, associate director of collection services Thais Rousseau and How-to Halloween event organizer Jerry Jodloski. The television show is an extension of our CADLcast Podcast.

CADL Tales will feature children stories told by library staff. The first episode will feature Foster head librarian Jean Bolley, Okemos librarian Tom Shilts and youth services specialist Mari Garza. Other CADL staff members will appear in later episodes.  Both shows are 30 mins and will also be shared online. The show will help advance our Raising Readers Initiative and promote branch storytimes.
