[Michlib-l] Free CE on LGBTQ+ Issues

Arkansas State Library Children's Services Coordinator Ruth Hyatt and the director of the Calhoun County Library & Museum are doing a two-session workshop based on my Emerging Leaders project starting next week. It's free, and you don't have to be in Arkansas to attend. The sessions will be August 13 and 20 from 10am-12pm Central time. Join us for a deep dive into the how and why of supporting LGBTQ+ young people and materials in your school and public libraries.

Participants will explore the Defending Intellectual Freedom: LGBTQ+ Materials in School Libraries resource guide and look at ways to use this information in your library every day to support your collections and students/patrons. This two-session workshop will include a mix of presentations and hands-on activities that will prepare attendees to offer more and better services to all of the young people they serve and is appropriate for librarians who work with youth of all ages.
