Bestselling author and optimist Simon Sinek<https://simonsinek.com/> will presented a featured keynote on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 6 p.m. Eastern as part of the United for Libraries Virtual: Trustees - Friends - Foundations<http://www.ala.org/united/virtual> event.

***The keynote will be available to event attendees as well as livestreamed on the United for Libraries Facebook page<https://www.facebook.com/unitedforlibraries/>.***

In his latest book "The Infinite Game," Simon Sinek explores the difference between finite and infinite games, and how many of the struggles that organizations face exist simply because their leaders were playing with a finite mindset in an infinite game. He'll discuss how to adopt an infinite mindset - a prerequisite for any leader who aspires to leave their organization in better shape than they found it. He'll also discuss, based on his book "Start With Why," how to go beyond talking about "what you do" or "how you do it" to make a real difference in your advocacy efforts. Sinek will be in conversation with 2018-2019 United for Libraries President Skip Dye.

Described as "a visionary thinker with a rare intellect," Simon Sinek<https://simonsinek.com/> has devoted his professional life to help advance a vision of the world in which the vast majority of people wake up every single morning inspired, feel safe wherever they are and end the day fulfilled by the work that they do. He is the author of multiple bestselling books including "Start With Why", "Leaders Eat Last," "Together is Better" and "The Infinite Game."

Skip Dye is Senior Vice President, Library Sales and Digital Strategy, Penguin Random House. He has been an active member of the United for Libraries board since 2015. Prior to his position at Penguin Random House, he was VP, adult library and academic marketing, Random House, LLC, and VP, sales director, Random House Publisher Services, Random House, LLC.
