Dear Michlib,

I'm looking for referrals and/or recommendations for resources for adult literacy. I'm considering creating adult literacy kits to be checked out from my library. I don't want to make them too dry or intimidating, but want them to have some appeal/factor of fun while also being helpful and efficient. I'm thinking that offering separate kits focused on specific topics may be the most helpful: Basic reading skills(low-level readers); ELL; Getting Your GED; Digital Literacy; Job Applications; Credit cards & Finances; Test-taking skills; and possibly, Civic duty or Basic parenting FYI & need-to-know.

Is anyone already doing something like this? Have you found them helpful to your community?

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Katie
