With the grant application now open for the 2020 Public Library Services grants, you may need some help coming up with the perfect idea for your grant request. Take a look at some of the grants funded through the 2019 Public Library Services Grant Program throughout the state. The grants listed here<https://www.michigan.gov/documents/libraryofmichigan/2019_Public_Library_Services_grants_brief_descriptions_676304_7.pdf> are a sampling of what libraries did last year with $500 to $2,000 grant to support literacy programs, children and teen programs, and technology programs. You can find full grant program details and a sample grant application for this program at www.michigan.gov/lsta in the Public Library Services grant section.

The application is due March 6th and the application link is posted under Apply for A Grant on the same page.

Public Library Services Grant program


This program provides funding for public libraries to purchase materials and supplies that meet the selected program topics for a given year and are for an identified program or service the library will be providing. Funding is intended to supplement local topical services that improve information access and quality of service in their communities. The grant period is from mid-April to August. Funding will be from $500 to $2,000. Funding is by reimbursement. The application deadline is March 6,  2020. Eligible applicants are Michigan public libraries that are legally established and currently eligible for state aid.
