Find out more about this pilot project that may become available to libraries statewide in 2021. This webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants. It is brought to you by the Library of Michigan and supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

A class from NNLM
July 16, 3:00 PM ET
Body image, experimentation, identity, depression, sexuality, and stress are just some of the issues important to teens as they experience many changes physically and mentally. Trusting adults and authority figures may not be easy for many teens. When it comes to health issues they, their friends, or their family, may be experiencing, it is important that they have access to reliable health information. Seeking that help can be difficult. Those who work with teens will be provided with an introduction to teen health resources. This course will present an overview of health information needs of teenagers and their information seeking behaviors, review communication skills needed during reference interviews with teenagers, and explore credible health information resources that are designed for teens.

Lisa Downing, Director of the Forbes Library in Northampton will offer advice about how to care for yourself as a director while also supporting your staff. And, Anne Most, a licensed clinical social worker, will talk about self-care, stress reduction, and taking care of our mental health.
