Summer Library Programming
Reading logs are now available for you to download, edit in your library information/reading recommendations, print & share with patrons: https://bit.ly/LMlogs2020. Also, don't forget the updated posters, including some social media poster images, are available separately from the rest of the manual art at: http://bit.ly/LM2020CSLP.
I know you're in the middle of launching #ImagineYourStory but I need you take a couple of minutes to answer the following questions at: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5669405/CSLP20 by 5:00 PM, Monday, July 6th:
1. CSLP's 2022 theme is "Oceanography" and the artist is Sophie Blackall. What slogan suggestions do you have for this theme? For Example: "Dive Into Reading" or "Splash Around with a Good Book."
(Since we are the Great Lakes state, any slogan around water might do.)
2. CSLP plans summer library programs far out in order to book artists and begin drafting manuals. Please share 1 theme suggestion (not a slogan) for the summer of 2024. For example: Art, Music, or Space.
Please don't email me, but respond at: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5669405/CSLP20. To review past slogans/themes, go to: https://www.cslpreads.org/programs/years-of-cslp-themes/.
Your input informs my submissions to the Collaborative Summer Library Program. All public libraries in Michigan are members of CSLP and have input and access to their materials, thanks to support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The New York Public Library is thrilled to announce the launch of our new self-paced early literacy training, Raising the Bar: Integrating Early Childhood Development into Librarian Professional Development. This free training expands on the work of our train-the-trainer materials to offer a comprehensive self-guided individual learning experience. Developed for librarians of all experience levels, this self-paced training can be completed at any time and in any place. NYPL developed Raising the Bar as a bridge to connect early childhood development to public librarianship, as libraries are often the first introduction to early learning for families. Expanding upon the fantastic work of ECRR2, our training focuses on family engagement and the belief that all librarians are community anchors, educators and early literacy ambassadors. We were thrilled to announce the official launch of our new individual learning early literacy training as a resource for librarians everywhere! Start learning today at: https://nypl.teachable.com/.
