Ready to Read Michigan is under way with A Parade of Elephants by Kevin Henkes! After a number of requests, I wanted to encourage you all to not limit your programming to March is Reading Month - you are welcome to conduct RTRM throughout the month of April, as it does also celebrate the Week of the Young Child<https://www.naeyc.org/events/woyc/overview>. Surveys will be due May 1st to allow you time to conduct outreach & programs.
Programming Guide:

Announcing our NEW Website!
This website is designed specifically for frontline youth services library staff: www.ReadytoReadMi.org<http://www.ReadytoReadMi.org> - I am still working on updating it with support materials, etc., but I wanted to share it out before March ran away from me! If you create any programming support for Ready to Read Michigan feel free to share it with me at LancasterC5 at Michigan.gov<mailto:LancasterC5 at Michigan.gov>. I'm also open to any ideas or suggestions for year-round early literacy support. This site will be for your use, so please get in touch if you have ideas you'd like to share.
Exciting Video News Starring Kevin Henkes!
Children's Literacy Legacy award winner Kevin Henkes was here at the Library of Michigan on March 4th, presenting A Parade of Elephants to area preschoolers, caregivers, and librarians. While here, he filmed a very special recording of A Parade of Elephants for public libraries. The video is now in production, but I will have it to share with you all soon, for use in your storytimes/outreach! To see photos from the event go to our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/libraryofmichigan/.
