The Shiawassee District Library is committed to inspiring our community by
preserving our past, enriching today, and meeting the needs of our changing
society.

The Board of Trustees of the Shiawassee District Library is seeking an
experienced, innovative Library Director to provide leadership,management,
vision, and a commitment to the library.  An ALA accredited MLS/MLIS and
five years professional library experience are required.  Proven management
skills in supervision, administration and building management/planning as
well as a demonstrated success of community involvement.

SDL serves a population of 27,920 residents of the cities of Durand,
Owosso, and Bennington, Owosso, and Rush Townships, with a current budget
of $948,720.  A voted millage is in place through 2021.  The library staff
includes 26 employees (13 FTE's).

The library  has branches in Owosso and Durand housing more than 97,000
volumes.  In addition to traditional library services, an emphasis has been
placed on local history and genealogy (including James Oliver Curwood and
railroad history) print and digital archives and children's programming.

Salary Range:  $74,129-$87,907 commensurate with experience plus fringe
benefits.  This is an FLSA exempt position.  The position will be open
December 1, 2020.
