Hello all,
I'm the 2020-2021 MiALA (Michigan Academic Library Association) President, and would like to advise that we have a reopening plan repository<https://miala.org/library_reopening.php> on our website. We are asking that, if you have permission to share it publicly, you add your reopening plan to the repository. We welcome all academic plans, whether they are from a community college, publicly funded, private or out of state. You also do not need to be a MiALA member to use the repository.
The intentions with the repository are to enable academic libraries to benchmark current practices in libraries similar to their own, and also have a data set for scholars to access in the future.
Tremendous thanks to the libraries that have already submitted their plans and infographics.
The link again is https://miala.org/library_reopening.php
All best and stay safe out there!

I want to thank all of you for the amazing responses! Many of you wanted to know the results. So I tried to make it simple and the excel sheet reflects that but I included a separate word document that has many of the comments.
No snow today 😉
Stay warm, safe and hope this helps.
Ann

Hello out there! Here in Michigan the U.P. has had a lot of snow already- a record amount for Oct. But ours, in Escanaba, has thankfully melted away. But it is cold!
I had a request from Administration to find out the current status of academic libraries in Michigan- so, a quick poll.
1) Is the your Library open?
2) If you are open, are the stacks open?
* What extra precautions/procedures, if any, are you taking in regards to patrons accessing the stacks?
3) If you are not open, is the staff working remotely?
Thanks for your help!
Ann
