My understanding is that a group within the library can be no more than 10. So, if you had like storytime you could only have up to 10 people in the storytime. But the entire building capacity can be 25% of the library capacity. This is kind of how Clare described it in some of the Friday meetings.

I am confused by this. Did she ever publicly announce this?

As an example, theaters (gyms, etc.) can be open, but we can only limit to 10 indoors at a time?

I have 9 staff at a branch, do I have to shut it down? I am not cutting my staffs hours as they desperately need the money. There is nothing they can do at home.

But sports and schools can be open (exempt)?

Can I just get some clarification on this.

Hello All:

Please note that my earlier e-mail (see below) indicated that the 10 person limit included people from the same households. This is incorrect, as it SHOULD read “people NOT from the same households.”

Here is a corrected version of the information:

EO 2020-176 has been amended by EO 2020-181 to again include Regions 6 & 8 (The UP and the upper Mitten) within the restriction of 10 and under attendance for Social Gatherings and Organized Events:

“1. Subsection (d) is added to Section 8 of the Safe Start order (Executive Order 2020- 176), providing: “In Regions 6 and 8, an indoor social gathering or indoor organized event among persons not part of the same household is permitted provided that the gathering or event does not exceed 10 people and complies with https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/0,9309,7-387-90499_90705-539530--,00.htmlthe social distancing requirement of subsection 6(a)(1) of this order.”

https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/0,9309,7-387-90499_90705-539530--,00.html <https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.michigan.gov%2Fwhitmer%2F0%2C9309%2C7-387-90499_90705-539530--%2C00.html&data=02%7C01%7CMembielaC%40michigan.gov%7C789d5a5a1e4d479d0a5808d85a546743%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C1%7C637358665847393775&sdata=7B8J7%2BYhRbyxvmgXz6IYeyDtSwISqFKeYIVitlwBedc%3D&reserved=0>

Therefore, the entire state – ALL Public Libraries- must limit in-person gatherings of people NOT from the same household for social gatherings and organized events. This includes meetings, programs, Board Meetings, some meeting room activities, etc.

For information on the meaning of “social gathering or organized event” see the FAQ for EO 2020-176 located on the Executive Order page https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_98455-538942--,00.html <https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.michigan.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F0%2C9753%2C7-406-98178_98455-538942--%2C00.html&data=02%7C01%7CMembielaC%40michigan.gov%7C789d5a5a1e4d479d0a5808d85a546743%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C1%7C637358665847393775&sdata=AMA6UjDM1SrpebD9Zd7B59MGRFlLEMBgAWYodOqfeHs%3D&reserved=0>
