Subject: Register for the Michigan Digital Preservation Network Member Summit on June 15!
*apologies for cross-posting!*
Registration is now open for the first-ever Michigan Digital Preservation Network Member Summit! This virtual conference will take place via Zoom on June 15 from 9:30-4:30pm (ET). Register via the MCLS workshop site<https://site.corsizio.com/c/60a52063580b10917eb40abb>. Registration is $10.
We have an excellent lineup of presenters from across the country discussing benchmarking and assessment, content selection and curation, creating digital preservation policies, and more! The Summit also features sessions that introduce attendees to digital preservation and why it’s important to protecting our cultural heritage. Finally, we’ll have some exciting news to share, including membership pricing, member benefits, our governance model, a technology roadmap, and a new logo! View the full schedule, including presenters and talk abstracts, via Sched<https://mdpnsummit.sched.com/>.
We’re especially excited to have Trevor Owens, Head of Digital Content Management at the Library of Congress, as our keynote speaker discussing his “16 Axioms of Digital Preservation” from his recent book The Theory and Craft of Digital Preservation<https://jhupbooks.press.jhu.edu/title/theory-and-craft-digital-preservation>.
Any questions or issues with registration can be directed to me (Chelsea Denault, MDPN Coordinator).
The Michigan Digital Preservation Network is a new initiative dedicated to building a community-centered approach to digital preservation for cultural heritage organizations off all sizes across the state.
