On Thursday, March 11, at 7:00 pm, the Clarke Historical Library will welcome renowned chef, local food advocate, and best-selling cookbook author Abra Berens to speak about food and drink and what they mean to the people of Michigan. Berens' book Ruffage: A Practical Guide to Vegetables was named one of the twelve best new cookbooks by the New York Times in 2019 and was a 2020 Michigan Notable Book. This talk opens the Clarke's newest exhibition, Michigan Foodways: Exploring History through Memories of Food.

This presentation is free and open to the public. The event will be broadcast via Central Michigan University's videoconferencing tool, Webex, and it will be recorded to enjoy at a later time. Registration is required for the event and the shortened link to register is: https://is.gd/ClarkeAbraBerens
