Registration is now open for Libraries Engaging Appreciatively for Positive Change (LEAP) 2021!

On Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, library staff from libraries of all types around the state of Michigan will gather on Zoom for Libraries Engaging Appreciatively for Positive Change (LEAP) 2021! This one-full-day virtual event is a continuation of our partnership with the Library of Michigan and our shared Michigan Libraries Engage project. Last fall, LEAP 2020 gathered a cohort of 77 participants to learn and explore together, pivoting to Zoom due to the pandemic, and was a wonderful day which launched a dedicated cohort into a shared learning journey throughout the winter and spring. LEAP 2021 will introduce up to 100 more library staff members from all roles and all types of libraries to Appreciative Inquiry and how to apply it to community engagement.

Here's what just a few LEAP 2020 participants had to say about the experience:

I really enjoyed learning about Appreciative Inquiry. A lot of the techniques resonated with me; it was cool to learn about a well-established change management framework that so closely aligns to my approach to influencing change.
This was *by far* the best-run online conference I've attended - well played! I appreciated that the interactions were not forced, and that there were clear goals set throughout with a logical progression through the material.
I expect I'll use this learning at work, with our library community, and in my personal life with my spouse and my children!
