NDL to explore the vast history of all-time fan favorite, LEGO, with Bricks McGee 



Northville, MI: Everyone has heard of LEGO, those brightly colored blocks that snap together to build whatever your imagination can think up, and has most likely grown up with them too. They’re well known for a variety of popular culture-themed projects and cool STEM activities, but also for a shocking and nasty surprise if you happen to step on one. Or two. But do you know where they come from or how LEGO started as a business? Did you know that the name ‘LEGO’ is an abbreviation of the two Danish words “leg godt”, meaning “play well”? Did you also know that the “brick in its present form was launched in 1958”? (The LEGO Group, 2022). 



Join us online via Zoom on Saturday, August 27 from 1 PM to 3 PM to learn the history of LEGO and then engage in challenges at home with your own collection of LEGO! Bricks McGee will be presenting. This program is intended for LEGO enthusiasts over the age of eighteen but we will not restrict by age. LEGO are not provided by the Library and attendees should have their own LEGO at home to participate in the fun challenges.
