Join us a series of webinars covering the topic of library millages. This virtual series will run each Monday in March. Each webinar will be recorded and posted at the end of the month.  Registration for the series provides you with access to all 4 sessions listed below.

March 7 at 1:00 pm ET
Before Your Millage - Hear from LM staff members Clare Membiela and Kathy Webb on library establishment and how it affects what the library can and cannot do when it comes to a millage. Information on how to find the best millage amount and how that can be calculated will also be discussed. (1.5 hours)

Marketing Strategies in Today's Environment
Join John Chrastka from EveryLibrary to learn about how to handle your millage campaign when the loudest voices seem to be the opposition. (2 hours)

March 21 at 1:00 pm ET
Legal Issues: Millage Proposals and Millage Campaigns
Attorney, Anne Seurynck will provide an overview of the library millage process from a legal perspective. Participants will learn the dos and don'ts of ballots and campaigning in Michigan. Since libraries in Michigan are meant to be funded by local support, in many situations that means a millage. (2.5 hours)

March 28 at 1:00 pm ET
Tools for a Successful Millage Campaign
Long-time Kent District Library trustee and library millage campaign consultant Shirley Bruursema will cover the tools for a successful millage campaign including:
•Forming a yes committee and who is involved
•How to know how much to ask for
•Functions of a yes committee and recommendations for timing around a millage
•How to win a millage campaign successfully
(2 hours)

The four-part series will be recorded and available at the conclusion of the full series.
