Just a reminder that there are federal grants supporting digitization and digital project planning activities available. See some of the opportunities below and note those with fast-approaching deadlines!

Humanities Collection and Reference Resources Grant Program - Closing July 19, 2022
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Preservation and Access is accepting applications for the Humanities Collection and Reference Resources program. Grants support projects to create intellectual access to collections of rare books, manuscript and archival materials, born-digital records, maps, still and moving images, sound recordings, art, and objects of material culture. Awards also support the creation of reference works, online resources, and research tools of major importance to the humanities. Amounts are awarded for Foundations projects up to $50,000, with an additional $10,000 to support interinstitutional planning and pilot activities. Collections Assessment for Preservation Program - Closing July 31, 2022
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Collections Assessment for Conservation (CAP) program is designed to help small and mid-sized museums better care for their collections. Allocation amounts range from $3,600 - $4,000 per assessor, depending on the annual budget of the institution. Community Collections Grant Program - Closing August 1, 2022
The Library of Congress and the American Folklife Center are providing grants up to $50,000 to support individuals or non-profit organizations in producing cultural documentation (photographs, interviews, audio, or video recordings) about their community from the community’s perspective. Archival Projects Program - Draft Deadline (optional) August 4, 2022; Closing October 6, 2022
Funded by the National Historical Publications & Records Commission, the Archival Projects program supports supports projects that promote access to America's historical records to encourage understanding of our democracy, history, and culture. Projects may preserve and process historical records to convert existing description for online access; create new online Finding Aids to collections; or digitize historical records collections and make them freely available online. All types of historical records are eligible, including documents, photographs, born-digital records, and analog audio and moving images. Awards for one or two years are up to $150,000.
