Host a Community Scanning Day

Hosting a scanning day can be a great way to bring community members into the library and help them engage in local history! By providing training and resources for local families to digitize their photographs, documents, and memorabilia, you can add to your community's shared history.

Local community members were invited to the Ontonagon County Historical Society to learn about how to digitize and preserve their family memorabilia and photographs. Over the two-day event the UPLINK team was able to digitize 1,143 items and record two oral history interviews with community members. The second event will be held at the Menominee County Public Library in August with details to follow.
