[Michlib-l] UPDATE: MDOC ban on non-English dictionaries

Hello everyone!

Please forgive my cross-posting as I try to get word out. You may recall an email I sent last week to the listserv regarding the ban on non-English dictionaries in Michigan Department of Corrections<https://medium.com/@norton.nicholasj/dont-ban-dictionaries-michigan-department-of-corrections-62f194908461>. This morning, MDOC has rescinded the ban<https://www.michigan.gov/corrections/-/media/Project/Websites/corrections/Files/Directors-Office-Memoranda/DOMs/DOM-2022-23-PD-05-03-118-Prisoner-Mail.pdf?rev=83208f8c5b3b4fec96d9a23f93643e92>! While there is still work to be done as the new rule does not include language learning books, we are counting this as a win against arbitrary book bans.
