[Michlib-l] Upcoming program at Dearborn Public Library: Life Skills

Hi everyone,

Dearborn Public Library is starting a series of “Life Skills” programs
(flyer attached). The first installment in the series is “How to Fix a
Leaky Faucet,” which will be presented on Wednesday, March 30, 6:30 – 7:00
p.m. In this program, library staff will demonstrate how to use one of the
library’s free databases, Home Improvement Reference Center, to help fix a
leaky faucet.

The second installment is “How to Jump Start a Car,” which will be
presented on Wednesday, April 6, 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. In this program, library
staff will show how to use another one of the library’s free databases,
Consumer Reports, for step-by-step instructions on how to jump start a
vehicle. Staff will also suggest a tool to have that is even better than
jumper cables.

The third in the series is “How to Use a Generator,” presented on
Wednesday, May 4, 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Here library staff will return to
Consumer Reports, this time to show how to use it for help in selecting a
portable generator, and staff will go over instructions on using
generators, which are an invaluable tool to have during a power outage.

All of these programs will be online through Zoom. To register: visit the
events calendar at dearbornlibrary.org. A Zoom link will be sent to your
email or phone once you are registered.
