What do you know about the 38th president of the United States, Michigan's own Gerald R. Ford?
For a glimpse into Ford's life, from his hard-scrabble childhood to his lifelong love affair with wife Betty to the legacy of his brief presidency, join us for a conversation between two men who knew the man.
* Richard Norton Smith, a nationally recognized authority on the American presidency. A past director of the Gerald R. Ford Museum and Library, he has just completed the definitive biography of the 38th president "An Ordinary Man: The Surprising Life and Historic Presidency of Gerald R. Ford."
* Hank Meijer, Vice-Chairman and a Trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. He and the Meijer family were close friends of President and Mrs. Ford.
Held in the Forum Auditorium, the pair's wide-ranging conversation will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.
There is no charge to attend this event. "An Ordinary Man" will be available for purchase at the Michigan History Museum Store.
