2 Solar Eclipses are coming!
Two solar eclipses are coming to North America - an Annular Eclipse in October 2023 and a Total Solar Eclipse in April 2024 - and it's time for public library staff to get ready! Thanks to a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and a supplement to the NASA at My Library Project, the Space Science Institute's STAR Net team is providing 5 million solar viewing glasses. To learn more about the project, including how to register your library for free solar eclipse glasses, visit: www.starnetlibraries.org/about/our-projects/solar-eclipse-activities-libraries-seal/<http://www.starnetlibraries.org/about/our-projects/solar-eclipse-activities-libraries-seal/>.

Libraries and Summer Food
If you want to become an SFSP site, the Collaborative Summer Library Program's Libraries & Summer Food how-to guide<https://www.cslpreads.org/libraries-and-summer-food/> is a thorough, clear step-by-step guide for determining whether your library is eligible, getting started, and exploring other ways to support food distribution and address basic needs. Whether or not your library is an SFSP site, there are many ways to raise awareness about summer meals. To get going as a site in Michigan, you can head to the MDE SFSP site<https://www.michigan.gov/mde/services/food/summer> for instructions and training resources.
The MDE SFSP team will host office hours on Thursday, May 4, from 2:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to get your Coordinated Application questions answered. Hope to see you there!
