Letter from the CSLP Board of Trustees President

Dear CSLP Membership,

Wow! What a year 2023 was... I'm sure many of us can say this for numerous reasons, but for the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) it really has been a whirlwind of change and new beginnings. I would like to share my heartfelt thanks to the CSLP Staff, the Board of Directors, and all of our Committee Chairs; for their hard work and diligence guiding us through this past year. We began it without an Executive Director, and with such a small staff that has big impacts. Now we end the year with our new Executive Director, Dawn Krause, and she dove fearlessly into the position, and all that it takes to make the mostly volunteer driven organization that is CSLP work. A huge thanks goes out to Mellissa Hooke, CSLP Office Administrator, for helping guide the organization along so steadfastly. And to Alyssa Graybeal, CSLP Manual Editor, for putting out another fantastic and improved manual, despite all the unknowns. Without these three dedicated employees, the day-to-day of CSLP operations would surely faulter.

As for the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, I almost do not know where to begin. Everyone stepped up to help, from smaller tasks to large ones. We truly would not have made it through this year of change without relying on each other, and that is exactly what makes CSLP unique. CSLP reflects what true librarianship means: working together to provide access to all - CSLP empowers libraries to foster community through inclusive literacy-based programming. And behind the scenes, I find great joy in seeing everyone working together, often going above and beyond, to offer such quality programming and support for libraries.

As we ring in the New Year, I am passing the gavel on to President-Elect Donna Throckmorton, and I for one am excited to see what 2024 brings for CSLP.

Product Reviews in the CSLP Shop

Now you can review CSLP products in our shop!  In order to get direct and shareable feedback on our product offerings for 2024, we initiated a review section on most product pages.  Simply scroll down to the description area of each product and you will see a tab labeled "Review."  Choose a star rating and/or insert your comments.  Helpful comments include sizing feedback, product durability and how you will use the item in your library programming.

We won't always see your reviews in a timely enough fashion.  If something needs addressing, contact us directly so we can make it right.
