The Detroit Zoological Society is excited to partner with libraries again on another summer of reading! During this workshop, you'll receive activity outlines that give an animal twist to the "All Together Now" theme. From exploring animal group names to thinking about the global efforts of conservation, each activity is designed to help learners think about how we all are part of one biosphere.

Resources
Intellectual Freedom Programming Toolkit
Raising awareness of intellectual freedom and information literacy among children is important, and not just during Banned Books Week. This toolkit provides practical tips and sample programming that incorporate these topics in fun and engaging ways.
Just like sneaking healthy food into a kid's meal, these techniques will enrich the work you already do as a librarian without disrupting your programming routine.

Each day brings together library staff, researchers, and community members to learn from and with each other about bringing Connected Learning to small and rural library settings. Small and rural libraries are already using the principles of connected learning in their work. They do this by building relationships with youth, community members, and stakeholders; fostering interests of teens through library services; and creating opportunities for academic and life success.
