[Michlib-l] Minor patrons internet use policy

We're looking at our internet use policy, specifically in regards to
patrons under 18 years of age and issuing guest computer passes to minors,
and we wanted to see what other libraries are doing. Could you share your
thoughts/policies on this issue?

   - What does your library policy say about internet access to minors? Do
they need permission from parents/guardians, do they automatically have
access, can a parent opt out, etc.?
   - What do you do if a minor doesn't have their card with them? Do you
issue a guest pass, pull up their account number, etc.?
   - What if the minor doesn't have a library card at all and does not have
   a parent/guardian with them?
   - Does this policy change at all depending on the age of the minor?

Thanks for your help!
