Hello Friends,

Friends of Michigan Libraries will hold its Annual Membership Meeting by
Zoom on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  Our speaker will be Peter
Pearson, Library Consultant and his presentation is entitled “What is being
a friend of the library all about?”  This event is open to all Michigan
Friends.  Registration is online with payment of $10 for members and $20

Peter Pearson has a master’s degree in educational administration from the
University of Minnesota. He has been a classroom teacher, school principal,
and executive director of two non-profit educational programs prior to the
President of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, a position he
held for 25 years.  He is on the Board of Directors of the Library
Foundation for Sarasota County and is chair of its political advocacy
committee. Mr. Pearson currently sits on the Board of Directors of United
for Libraries, a division of the American Library Association representing
Friends, Foundations, Trustees and Advocates. Pearson is a past Board
President of this division. A native of Chicago, Mr. Pearson lived in the
Minneapolis/Saint Paul area for over 45 years. He now resides full time in
Sarasota, Florida.

The deadline for registration is Tuesday, April 4. We look forward to
