New this year: Pop-Up Program Demos

If the thought of lecturing at the front of the room turns your legs to jelly our pop-up program demos might be the opportunity you've been waiting for! These 20-minute sessions will give presenters the opportunity to demo a craft or other library program formula for small groups of attendees. These practical, actionable demo sessions will let programming pros share their ideas in a less intimidating, more familiar environment. Special consideration will be given to pop-up demos that incorporate intentional accessibility for patrons of different ages and ability levels.

Professional Networking & Affinity Groups

Volunteers needed!

The ARSL Membership Committee is seeking a few additional volunteers to help start our Professional Networking Groups this year! Building on the success of the Solo-ish Librarians Happy Hour pioneered by ARSL members Bree Drapa and Chelsea Price, the Membership Committee wants to provide dedicated time and space for ARSL members to connect with others in their area of professional focus (youth services, administration, cataloging, etc.) or who exist at similar intersections of identity within the librarianship community.

We currently need leaders for the following networking groups:

  *   Circulation Services
  *   BIPOC Librarians
  *   LGBTQ+ Librarians

Have an idea for an affinity group not listed on the volunteer form? Suggestions are welcome if you're willing to lead them! All networking groups will be held in ARSL Zoom rooms on a standing monthly schedule. Meetings will be drop-in style, with no obligation to stay the full hour. Networking groups (with the exception of the existing Solo-ish Librarians HH) are open to ARSL members only.

As a reminder, Color has partnered with the CDC to support free COVID-19 lab testing for under-resourced communities across the nation. We are partnering with hundreds of libraries and other community locations to increase access to this critical healthcare service.
