[Michlib-l] Using Subs?

The Library Network (TLN) is working on creating a pool of substitute clerks and librarians and we'd like to know how your library handles substitutes. I asked a few weeks ago if anyone else had a pool of subs, and it seems no one did, but we'd still like to know how you keep your subs in the loop - how extensively do you interview subs, how long do you keep their resumes on file, how many subs are typically active at a time in your library, if you have more than one branch, do the subs float between them? Really, any information you have about how you handle subs for circulation and the reference desk would be most appreciated!
