Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives - Closing November 1, 2023
Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices is a grant competition administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) for digitizing rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the US and Canada. Launched in 2021, the program is designed to support efforts to digitize materials that deepen public understanding of the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended. VRA Project Grant - Closing November 3, 2023
The Visual Resources Association Project Grant awards up to $3,000 to support projects in the field of visual resources and image management. The project must be completed within one year from the time the grant is formally accepted. The funds may be used for stand-alone projects or pilots, start-up financing for larger projects, or for a component of a larger project. Collaborative projects and those proposed by groups, whether or not affiliated with an organization or institution, are encouraged. Of particular interest are innovative projects with results that can have a broad impact and be shared with the global community. Michigan History Alliance Grant Program - Closing November 10, 2023
The Historical Society of Michigan (HSM) is providing grants in amounts ranging up to $2,500 to nonprofit, city or tribal HSM member history organizations that have annual operating budgets less than $250,000 to assist small- to medium-size member historical organizations in their work to preserve and interpret Michigan’s history. Museums for America Program - Closing November 15, 2023
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Museums for America program supports museums of all sizes and disciplines to undertake projects that strengthen their ability to serve their public. Project activities may include exhibitions, educational or interpretive programs, digital learning resources, professional development, community debate and dialogue, audience-focused studies, and/or collections management, curation, care, and conservation. Awards range from $5,000 - $250,000 and can support digitization under the Collections Stewardship and Access category. Inspire! Grants for Small Museums - Closing November 15, 2023
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Inspire! Grants for Small Museums program supports small museums of all disciplines in project-based efforts to serve the public through exhibitions, educational/interpretive programs, digital learning resources, professional development, community debate and dialogue, audience-focused studies, and/or collections management, curation, care, and conservation. Museums Grants for African American Culture and History - Closing November 15, 2023
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Museum Grants for African American History and Culture program (AAHC program) is designed to build the capacity of African American museums and support the growth and development of museum professionals at African American museums. Awards range from $5,000 - $500,000 and can support projects that nurture museum professionals, build institutional capacity, and increase access to museum and archival collections at African American museums and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services Program - Closing November 15, 2023
