Please see grant opportunity below.
While not specifically aimed at libraries, the grant is open to Local Government entities offering educational programs.
In addition, there are several libraries across Michigan that also include or administer local history museums. This grant would also apply to them (and note that the grant money can be used for infrastructure).
More information is available at EGrAMS : Current Grants<https://egrams-mi.com/LEO/user/categoryprograms.aspx> (choose "community museum grant program")
If interested, libraries could also contact Michigan Labor and Economic Opportunity(LEO) at leo-grants at michigan.gov<mailto:leo-grants at michigan.gov>
Take care!
Sincerely,
Clare

LEO issues RFP for $9 Million in funding available through Community Museum Grant Program
LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Community Museum Grant Program, providing up to $9 million in funding to support museums and nonprofit foundations across Michigan that operate educational programs that foster artistic, scientific, technological or cultural exhibitions.
"Museums play a vital role in Michigan's cultural and economic landscape," said Susan Corbin, LEO director. "By fostering educational opportunities and inspiring innovation, museums enrich communities which contributes to economic growth. This funding demonstrates our commitment to helping museums not only survive but thrive as key resources for lifelong learning and engagement."
Eligible applicants may receive grants of up to $1 million to support projects that stabilize, grow or enable museums to thrive in their educational and programmatic missions. The grant period spans from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2029.
Focus Areas for Proposals: Applicants are encouraged to propose projects in one or more of the following categories:
* Stabilize: Address immediate administrative, programmatic or infrastructure needs.
* Grow: Expand mission impact and programmatic reach to build internal capacity and sustainability.
* Thrive: Develop long-term strategic initiatives to achieve visionary goals.
This opportunity is open to museums and nonprofit foundations operating educational programs in Michigan. Municipal, county, city, township, village and Tribal entities are also eligible. Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating the ability to leverage grant funds to secure additional federal or private funding.
