[Michlib-l] MLA Conference Silent Auction

Dear Michigan Library members,

I know it is a way off, but I wanted to put the word out that we are doing the Silent Auction fundraiser for MLA again at this year's conference at the Traverse Resort. The money we raise from the auction goes to help support libraries in Michigan dealing with Intellectual Freedom challenges, as well as the Scholarship Fund to help address our DEI initiatives. For the past two conferences, the auction has raised over $3,000 in funds to help support advocacy, DEI, and Intellectual Freedom for the libraries in our state.
This year we are asking for donations from all of our libraries such as gift baskets, gift certificates, things uniquely themed for your area; as well as, a variety of items or adventures you may have, such as boat tours, overnight stays, sports events, movie tickets, dinners at your local restaurants - items that tie into this year's theme of fun, moving forward, and self-care.
Even if you have smaller items, please consider donating. I am happy to put them together with other small items to make a whole basket. All money raised goes to help Michigan libraries and librarians through the efforts of the Michigan Library Association.
