The Children's Literature Lecture
<https://www.ala.org/alsc/awardsgrants/profawards/chll> is an annual event,
announced at ALA LibLearnX, in which an author, critic, librarian,
historian or teacher of children's literature presents a paper that makes a
significant contribution to the field. A library, university, special
collection, or other appropriate organization can be considered for the
host institution. Host sites for the Children's Literature Lecture receive
a $2,000 honorarium to help with costs incurred by hosting the lecture. The
lecture is administered by ALSC, the Association for Library Services to
Children.

Applications are due Friday April 5, 2024. Information about host site
responsibilities is included in the application materials. The lecture is
traditionally held in April or early May.
Kyle Lukoff is the author of the middle grade novel Too Bright to See (a
2022 Newbery Honor book, Stonewall Award winner, and a National Book Award
finalist), the Stonewall Award-winning picture book When Aidan Became a
Brother, and several other impactful and approachable stories for children.
Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Kyle was a bookseller and librarian.
