Managing Large-Scale Digitization Projects (DPOE-N)
When: Wednesday, January 24th & Friday, January 26th, 2024, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET
What: This workshop will provide an overview of planning and managing large-scale digitization projects through their entire lifecycle, including selection and preparation of materials, metadata creation, digitization, quality control, digital asset management and preservation, providing access, promotion, and assessment. The workshop will focus on archival collections of text and images but the strategies shared could also be applied to audiovisual materials or other formats.

Let the Sunshine: Digitizing Public Records
When: Thursday, March 21, 2024, 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET
What: Board Minutes, Financial Statements, and Agendas are just some examples of the many public records that libraries maintain. But it can be difficult to find and share information in analog form. Digitizing public records is a great way to improve access to public records, both for library staff and the public, but there are many factors to consider before digitizing your public records. This session will provide an overview of public records and their requirements for access, how to plan and execute a digitization project, and legal and privacy considerations for providing access to digitized content.
