2024 Programming Manual Online Updates

As summer planning moves into a higher gear now that it's less than 6 months away for many of us, we have a couple updates to our online manual to bring to your attention. New Merchandise Now Available!

Here at CSLP, we're always utilizing the ideas of our membership to keep our merchandise fresh and engaging for libraries.  We have a new slogan for some of our year-round merchandise!  Our Theme and Slogan Committee<https://cslpreads.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=043a7515ceb3ad45bdd2dd405&id=125f391a4a&e=c18caf2bb6> came up with some wonderful options, but finally voted on Libraries are Life!  We think this slogan captures the vitality and richness that libraries offer their communities, not to mention the nod to lifelong learning.  You will first see this slogan embroidered on our ball caps and beanies which will be available now at shop.cslpreads.org<https://cslpreads.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=043a7515ceb3ad45bdd2dd405&id=663d019dd2&e=c18caf2bb6>.  We will be transitioning from the slogan, Love My Library (which we can no longer use), to Libraries are Life!   The new slogan will be featured on more apparel as we move through 2024, so keep an eye out for these to add to your collection of library wear.

Help Shape the Future!

Have you ever thought about where CSLP summer library themes and slogans come from? Who thinks them up? How we select each year's slogan?
Each year CSLP seeks feedback from library staff for future summer slogan and theme suggestions. Libraries from across the nation also contribute, and together, we come to consensus. Now is your time to be heard! Please complete this brief survey<https://cslpreads.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=043a7515ceb3ad45bdd2dd405&id=bfbeb65961&e=c18caf2bb6>  to suggest a slogan for the 2027 theme of Mystery/Detective/Suspense and a fresh, new theme for 2028.

Some tips for developing themes and slogans:
--Adaptable for all ages
--Translatable into Spanish
--Avoid puns and wordplay
--Catchy, memorable, concise
--Inclusive, accessible, applicable across settings

All library staff participate in summer, so please feel free to forward this on to adult services staff, marketing staff, administration, etc. All voices are welcome!

Let's Stick Together is featuring two of our adventure designs for this year. "Paint by numbers" but with pixel stickers, this group activity can stand alone in the library or be done as a family program during summer! Instantly engages all ages and abilities.
