Summer Library Programming

CSLP Survey for 2027 Slogan/2028 Theme
Have you ever thought about where summer library themes and slogans come from? Who thinks them up? How we select each year's slogan? Well, the answer is YOU!
Each year the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) seeks feedback from Michigan library staff for future summer slogan and theme suggestions. Libraries from across the nation also contribute, and together, we come to consensus. Now is your time to be heard! Please complete this brief survey<https://forms.gle/ertcz2EMkqtvcVC49> to suggest a slogan for the 2027 theme of Mystery/Detective/Suspense and afresh, new theme for 2028.
Some tips for developing themes and slogans:

  *   Adaptable for all ages
  *   Translatable into Spanish
  *   Avoid puns and wordplay
  *   Catchy, memorable, concise
  *   Inclusive, accessible, applicable across settings

CSLP Programming Manual Codes
Public library directors were sent an email in October that included the manual code for CSLP's 2024 "Adventure Begins at Your Library!"<https://www.cslpreads.org/2024-adventure-begins-at-your-library/> If you are public library staff that needs access and has not seen their code passed along yet, or you're a director who didn't receive it, please complete this form with your official work email to be notified directly<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGtAGFVATWoBchMuL3eOZYWgfJsC4sup_MwGxWiDfQ66skvA/viewform>. We will explore marketing assets from the Collaborative Summer Library Program, provide resources, and inspire you to engage with your community this summer. All areas of library services including marketing are welcome!

MASL: MiSelf in Books
MISelf in Books<http://www.mimasl.org/miself-in-books.html> is an annual list of inclusive books for Michigan learners. The list is selected by a committee of certified school librarians who are members of the Michigan Association of School Librarians (MASL).These recommendations are based on books that they see learners reading and enjoying in their libraries. The books are published in the last two years and are selected with a focus on authenticity. The list will include books for all grade levels: PreK-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
