[Michlib-l] Where do you keep your DVDs?

We put ours back in the cases on the shelves years ago.  It's been fine.  We have more expensive items out for patrons as well including STEAM kits.  TGIF, Mary

We moved them from behind the desk to in the cases (not locked) about a year ago. They are cheaper than most books and it was extremely time consuming for staff. We haven't had any theft so far.

Does anyone else still do this? Is it more common than I am familiar with beyond the handful of libraries I have worked or been a part of? I think it was put in place to prevent stealing but I am not sure how much that is an issue compared to checking out someone with 10 DVDs going through the filing system.
