Michigan Yearbook Collection Project - One-Year Update
The Library of Michigan has reached the one-year milestone of our Michigan Yearbook Collection Project<https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwww.michigan.gov%2Flibraryofmichigan%2Fabout%2Fmake-a-gift%2Fyearbooks/1/01010198f706dae8-cfa37b5c-b2ea-4992-8ac1-18aca5059e13-000000/GJOsQZterJiJwEQW2vxzROp9-2YGgbMJjTvJDOoI3b8=420> campaign. Since the campaign began in August 2024, we have been contacted by libraries, schools, historical organizations, and hundreds of private donors. Sometimes, the donations arrive in the form of several boxes. In most cases, a donor will mail or drop off anywhere from one to four yearbooks. These are often the donor's own yearbooks or those of a close family member who has passed away.
Donations have come from across Michigan as well as from other states throughout the country. No matter how they reach us, we are deeply grateful for the generous response we have received. Over 3,000 yearbooks have been donated to the Library of Michigan since the campaign began last year. Each yearbook represents the stories of the individuals chronicled within them and of communities throughout our state. Thank you to everyone who has donated yearbooks and helped spread the word about the campaign.
