[Michlib-l] Genrefying Teen Collections

Hello, 

I’m the Teen Librarian at the Wayne Public Library and interested in reorganizing our teen collection by genre. Currently, books have various genre labels but are under the overarching fiction collection and not separated out. Graphic novels and non-fiction books are the only other separate collections within the teen collection itself. 

I am looking for any information from other libraries (preferably near southeast MI) that have organized their teen collection by genre: 
- Level of success 
- Pros/cons 
- Noticeable change in foot traffic (more/less) 
- Noticeable change in circulation (more/less) 
- Size of the teen collection 
- Patron feedback 
- Anything that was surprising
