Color Our World(tm) & additional summer library programming updates

2028 Slogan/2029 Theme Survey
Have you ever thought about where summer library themes and slogans come from? Who thinks them up? How we select each year's slogan? Well, the answer is YOU! Each year CSLP seeks feedback from [your state] library staff for future summer slogan and theme suggestions. Libraries from across the nation also contribute, and together, we come to consensus. Now is your time to be heard!
Please complete this brief survey (https://forms.gle/wL3Bmyc1Bg4dxuuY7) to suggest a slogan for the 2028 theme of Mythical Creatures and a fresh, new theme for 2029.
Some tips for developing themes and slogans:
--Adaptable for all ages
--Translatable into Spanish
--Culturally sensitive and thoughtful
--Avoid puns and wordplay
--Catchy, memorable, concise
--Inclusive, accessible, applicable across settings
For a list of previous themes and slogans go to: https://www.cslpreads.org/themes-and-slogans/. Please share your suggestions by Sunday, February 2nd, 2025.

New White Paper just published on Public Librarianship and Food Justice: https://go.uncg.edu/food-justice-and-libraries. Public Librarianship & Food Justice: Exploring the Intersections explores and examines some of the intersections between public librarianship and food justice, a topic many working in public libraries wish to understand and put into action. Many struggle to do so in a way that is sustainable for the institution of the public library. These findings emerged from focus groups with public library workers conducted from November 2023 to March 2024.

"The thing I remember best about successful people I've met all through the years is their obvious delight in what they're doing ... and it seems to have very little to do with worldly success. They just love what they're doing, and they love it in front of others." ~ Fred Rogers
