Happy Monday Michigan Librarians!
Today marks 99 days until this year's Michigan Library Association Annual Conference. As this year's Conference Chair, I am looking forward to seeing you this year in Lansing. Our theme is Kaleidoscope, and it represents all the ways we see the library in today's world, and how it constantly shifts and changes depending on our perspectives.
Our line-up of keynote speakers and breakout session presenters is impressive and will hopefully leave you feeling energized, inspired, and rejuvenated to go back to your libraries and look at it with a new perspective.
New to MLA? We have events just for you, including our New Attendee Breakfast. Join other first-timers and learn tips and tricks to help make your conference experience the best it can be, and hopefully connect with other attendees.
If you arrive on Tuesday night, be sure to come to the Lansing Shuffle, right next door to the conference center for food, shuffleboard, networking, and trivia.
We will be holding our Annual Awards Banquet on Wednesday night to recognize the wonderful people and communities in our libraries, and on Thursday the Library of Michigan is hosting a very special reception, including a Halloween Costume Contest, a Retirement Celebration for Debbie Mikula, music, food, tours, and a little surprise for one special attendee.
