Hello Trustee Alliance Friends,

The next FOML Trustee Alliance workshop is called *"Connecting the Dots:
Creating a Star Board of Trustees"* and it's coming up on *Friday,
September 12, 2014* at the *Cascade Township Branch of the Kent District
Library!*

We have special guest speaker *Sarah Ann Long* and her topics include:


   - The Trustees Role: What is it? Are there dos and don’ts?


   - The Library Director’s Role vs. Trustee Roles


   - Evaluating the Library Director: Why It’s Necessary and a Formula for
   Success


   - Library Funding Issues: Reprise


   - Library Policies: What’s Needed and Not Needed (By-Laws, Library
   Policy and Staff Procedures)


FOML Trustee Alliance workshops are a great time to network with other
Trustee groups, tour the *Cascade Township Library*, and spend a day
learning how to support your library! Please keep in mind that this is a
similar program that was presented at the Spring workshop last April at the
Canton Public Library.
