We are writing to tell you about an opportunity for your library to receive guidance and financial support for developing and enhancing its health information services, resources and programs in 2015.
As part of its IMLS-funded Health Happens in Libraries<http://click.e.oclc.org/?qs=4fe8102e30539d785cb18748e8cbd61de43b0b17a8e789c84ae60fcd6838a835> program, OCLC is seeking up to five public libraries with which to collaborate to develop and implement community health activities with a local partner. These activities, to be conducted in the spring of 2015, will support the goals of each participating library and their partners; and may include a range of services, such as a workshop on healthy family meal planning, or training to patrons seeking reliable online health information.
Please review the included Participant Overview<http://click.e.oclc.org/?qs=4fe8102e30539d781a32320f7919a32937f786ab53606134229086e730281b2f> for a full description of this opportunity, including how to submit a statement of interest for your library to be considered for this exciting work. If your library is interested in participating in this 7-month project, please submit a statement of interest by 5 pm Pacific time on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Selected libraries will be notified by December 31, 2014.
Consideration for participation in this project is open to any U.S. public library, and you may forward this invitation to your colleagues in the field. Thank you for joining the effort to magnify the role of public libraries as key contributors to community health!
We invite you to email us<mailto:morrisl at oclc.org?subject=Health%20Happens%20in%20Libraries> at any time with questions, suggestions, or ideas for supporting libraries in connecting communities to reliable health information services.
