Our Library held a successful Coloring & Conversation program in October.
We scheduled 2 more in November, a daytime and an evening. Again, a great
turnout, in fact we were nearly at capacity at the evening session that we
are now offering them monthly. The evening session has several sign ups
already for December. We played soft background music and provide
refreshments, although I don't think either is necessary. We printed off
several coloring pages from online websites onto card stock and provided a
variety for patrons to choose from. The Holiday pages were a hit at the
last program. We purchased several packs of colored pencils for patrons to
use, they had to leave them at the library but we found that many people
brought their own gel pens and markers. Tables were set up couple of
different ways and they preferred the tables in a board room setup so they
were all facing each other rather than a classroom setup.
