Patricia Majher’s newest book, Great Girls in Michigan History, highlights 20 girls from Michigan’s past who did amazing things before they turned 20. Included among them are an aviator, two actresses, a deep-sea diver, a future First Lady, and the reigning queen of professional tennis, Serena Williams. Prior to Great Girls, Majher authored Ladies of the Lights: Michigan Women in the U.S. Lighthouse Service, a tribute to the more than 50 female light keepers who helped ensure the safety of sailors on the Great Lakes.
