[Michlib-l] Student Learning Library - job opening at Calvin College

The Hekman Library of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI  is seeking a Student Learning Librarian who is creative, innovative and capable of making connections and establishing strong partnerships on behalf of the library, particularly with undergraduates in their first two years. This person will possess a strong background in teaching, pedagogy and instructional design as well as experience in producing content within learning management systems. As a member of the Reference and Instruction team, this person will be expected to do class instruction, reference work, and serve as liaison to academic departments. To foster student success the Student Learning Librarian will use various tools and resources to create awareness of Hekman Library's resources.


Qualifications

*         Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.

*         2-4 years of experience in an academic library

*         Strong background in teaching, pedagogy and instructional design with experience in producing content within learning management systems.

*         3-5 years of teaching experience.

*         Evidence of competence, initiative, productivity, creativity, and problem-solving ability.

*         Demonstrated effective communication abilities.

*         Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

*         Experience in reference, instruction, and collection development.
