WebJunction is excited to announce that applications for the second round of Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces project will be accepted soon. We'll be looking for 15 small and rural libraries interested in engaging their communities in a process to transform physical space and to support active learning at the library. This is an opportunity for small libraries to gain assistance in transforming cramped or underutilized spaces into vibrant, dynamic, active learning places.

The first round did not include any libraries from Michigan and they want to award libraries from states not already represented. This means Michigan libraries will have a greater opportunity at an award.

Thanks to a generous supplemental grant from IMLS, WebJunction will help 15 more libraries infuse new life into their spaces. Selected libraries will receive a $5,000 sub-grant and will engage in online learning with the WebJunction team from March 2019 - May 2020.

Applications will be available beginning Wednesday, January 2, 2019, and will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. EST) Friday, January 18, 2019. Applicants will be notified by mid-February of their selection status.
