As part of the Monthly Library Law Spotlight Webinar series, Wednesday December 18, 2019 @ 10:30am there will be a FREE Webinar discussing the common causes of Board & Board/Director conflict as well as strategies for discouraging, mitigating and managing conflict. This webinar would be of use to both Directors and Board Members.
"Playing Board Games-Mitigating and Managing Board Conflict"
Conflict is a fact of life, but in a library, board conflict or board/director conflict can ripple through the institution and cause damage that can take years to repair. This webinar will discuss common causes of library conflict and present strategies to combat, mitigate and solve issues before they turn into library-wide, or community-wide problems.
Participants can expect to learn:
* The roles of Library Board Members and Library Directors as represented within library establishment laws and the library profession.
* The common causes of Board & Director/Board conflict.
* Conflict-Combat Strategies that can help create an environment less susceptible to conflict.
* Conflict Coping steps to help manage and mitigate conflict when it occurs.
* Resources for help and information on conflict management.
